Nature's Way CoQ10 Review

Nature’s Way CoQ10 is a natural dietary supplement intended to help improve your cardiovascular health. The supplement combines 100mg of its primary ingredient CoQ10 together with high levels of Vitamins A and E to offer an improved oxidant effect that the manufacturer claims is most beneficial to the heart.

Ingredients

Other Ingredients:

Whether Vitamin A is beneficial or harmful is still to be discovered. Although Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, recent research has shown that it does not provide any benefit to the heart. In fact, some data shows that Vitamin E can even be harmful to the heart. We would rather have seen the manufacturer add Omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium or flaxseed which are better-known ingredients to benefit the heart. The supplement contains seven additional ingredients as fillers which is a disappointment when compared to competitor brands that have no fillers.

Dosage

Take 1 softgel capsule daily, preferably with food. Neither the website nor the label state the best time of day to take a pill which is somewhat lacking in our opinion. Consult a healthcare professional prior to use especially if pregnant, nursing or taking any medications.

Possible Side Effects

Possible side effects can include diarrhea, stomach discomfort, loss of appetite, vomiting and nausea. It can cause allergic skin rashes in some people. Do not take this supplement if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any kind of medication without consulting with a healthcare professional first.

Price

Nature’s Way CoQ10 is not available from the company website, but a link suggests various online retailers. On Amazon, the supplement sells for $11.39 with an option for free shipping if you have Prime or spend over a certain amount. Shop around for the best deal because prices vary widely. For only 30 pills in a bottle, this supplement is costly compared to competing brands.

Guarantee

Although the product label states that satisfaction is guaranteed, there was no specific mention of any type of manufacturer’s guarantee or return policy. There is no mention of a time period of a guarantee, nor if you can return the product for a full refund or an exchange, or if you can return opened bottles of capsules.

Conclusion of Our Nature’s Way CoQ10 Review

We liked that the product was free from artificial flavorings, corn, dairy products, gluten, preservatives, salt, soy, sugar, wheat. We also liked that the capsules were small in size, softgels, and easy to swallow. Since it was not stated we assume that the product is not for vegans and vegetarians due to the gelatin capsules. We also saw that the supplement contains seven additional ingredients as fillers which is a disappointment when compared to competitor brands that have no fillers. The amount of CoQ10 is only 100mg which is half the amount of competing brands that offer a stronger dose and most likely more effective dose of CoQ10. We are concerned that the inclusion of Vitamin E in Nature’s Way CoQ10 may be at best unhelpful and potentially even harmful to the heart. We found the price to be high considering only 30 pills in a bottle and the relatively low dose and size of the CoQ10 capsules at 100mg compared to competitor brands offering 250mg or more per capsule. We were also somewhat disturbed by the side effects mentioned with this supplement and in fact, many reviewers also stated that they were unable to tolerate the side effects and therefore stopped taking the supplement or saw no benefit from the supplement. Neither the website nor the label state the best time of day to take a pill which is somewhat lacking in our opinion. Very absent from the supplement was any form of guarantee or return policy. We strongly recommend consumers steer clear of supplements that do not stand behind their products confidently by offering a strong return policy and guarantee. We suggest you find an alternative CoQ10 supplement that contains a higher dose of CoQ10 (ideally 250mg per day), with fewer side effects, and one with has a confidence-building money back guarantee.
